Ford has announced new details about the Mustang GTD, which costs over $320,000, including optional packages focused on performance and weight.

Among the new features is the Performance Pack, which improves aerodynamics with canards at the front, a large splitter, a drag reduction system on the rear wing, and flaps on the underside of the car. This package also includes a set of 20-inch magnesium wheels and a new paint color called Chroma Flame.

Ford believes these enhancements will help the GTD complete a lap of the world’s largest racetrack, Nürburgring in Germany, over 20 kilometers long, in under seven minutes.

In addition to the Performance Pack, Ford will offer the Lightweight Pack, which removes sound insulation, and the Carbon Series, which keeps unpainted carbon fiber body parts and adds a special finish to the wheels.

The interior of the GTD has been revealed, showing Recaro seats, 13.2 and 12.4-inch screens, exclusive graphics, titanium paddles, and two new buttons on the center console to access track apps and raise the front axle. A specific steering wheel and a transparent rear window to observe the suspension are also highlights.

Production of the Mustang GTD is expected to last two years, with an estimated total of 1,400 units. Costing $325,000, demand for the model has been high, with over 7,500 registrations from interested buyers in the USA and Canada. Registrations for European buyers will begin soon.
